At the end of the long day.
Jonah watching the fireworks.
We celebrated the last of Jonah's first major holidays today. We went to a bbq held at one of the chief surgery residents house in the afternoon. We then came home and let Jonah nap and eat dinner before heading about 30 minutes north to watch a fireworks show. It was over the water but our view wasn't the greatest. I think it was probably similar in size to FC fireworks. Jonah didn't seem to care for the fireworks. When the first one went up he looked at it but for the rest of the show he just wanted to play. He did some singing and was climbing all over us. He did watch again for the finale though. You couldn't park at the park so you had to take a shuttle in and we waited almost an hour after the fireworks for a shuttle to take us back. People were getting impatient but Jonah was very good. Thankfully I had brought my sling (it is fleece but it was chilly so it worked out) so we didn't have to hold Jonah. There were some interesting teenagers in front of us that kept us pretty entertained (made us miss Molly). We arrived home about about 12:30 am and we had a very tired little boy.
That brings us to what we found when we arrived home. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but Matt wanted me to put up this quote from Anchorman. This is Ron Burgondy talking to his dog Baxter.
"What? You pooped in the refrigerator? And you ate the whole... wheel of cheese? How'd you do that? Heck, I'm not even mad; that's amazing. How 'bout we get you in your p.j.'s and we hit the hay."
I couldn't stop laughing and Matt was just awestruck. The pictures are of a horrible quality because my camera was still on the night setting or something but you get the gist.
We first thought someone broke in and moved the furniture around while ransacking the apartment
Nope, Caleb just had his own party.
Don't ask my how he managed to get the trash can from the kitchen into the bathroom. Maybe that is why he moved the table.
