This will be the last post for a while because we're moving out tomorrow! Tom is coming tomorrow with the uhaul and we'll pack everything up. We don't close on the house until June 1st but this gives us plenty of time to get out and get the house clean. We'll be spending a few days at the Plunks. They're having a little going away party on Sunday and everyone is invited. (That means all the blog stalkers too!!) So give us a call for directions and come on out. Heather is bringing the girls and they'll probably do some swimming. I'm hoping to get Jonah in the pool for the first time. Our couch came in today. Hooray! We'll pick it up tomorrow and load in on the truck. I've spent much of the day changing our address for everything and getting new insurance. It all takes so much time! Time to cut this post short because there is sooooo much left to pack and my mom, Dave, and Adam will be coming tomorrow and expect there to be boxes to move. The video is of Jonah dancing (or Matt making him dance).

Long time no update
Jo jumped on the back of the couch when she heard Matt drive in and somehow got caught in the cord to the blinds. She sat there like this until we noticed and then got the camera to take a picture. Too bad she probably didn't learn her lesson and will still jump on the couch. (and I know, Jonah could do the same thing, but the shades are not coming with us)
It has been a while since I've posted a good update. We've been busy packing and visiting with friends and family. It has also been an emotionally exhausting couple of weeks. My last day of work was on Friday and I'm still trying to cope with the thought that I mostly likely will never be back again. I absolutely loved my coworkers and am going to miss them so much. The last 4 years, which were the first 4 years of my nursing career, were filled with many firsts. I'll never forget the first time I was in the delivery room for the birth of a baby and almost started crying when the father cried tears of joy. And I'll forever remember the sobs of the mother when I lost my first patient. Not to be a downer but I'm so sad to be leaving. I also liked that I got to revisit memories of Jonah's birth every time I was at work and attended a c-section in the OR where Jonah was born (although I don't remember it). So I officially said goodbye on Friday when I turned in my badge and transport pager. I have been horrible about getting pictures of Jonah the last few days. We did lunch and shopping with Laura, Sara and Abby today but I didn't even think to take my camera out of my bag and take pictures. The day after I posted the video of Jonah learning to crawl he really started to take off. Although he is still doing a modified army crawl, he is moving very quickly. He loves to hold onto your fingers and stand. He looks so proud of himself. He is very wobbly but has started to put one foot in front of the other. He turned 9 months and visited the pediatrician. Everything looked good. He is still dealing with eczema but we're just lotioning him up really well to keep it under control. He weighed 18 lbs and something (don't remember) which isn't up much from 6 months but the doctor said it is time to add meat for the calories. I won't be making him meat anytime soon so we're buying it in jars. He is starting to eat thicker foods and use his fingers. He is really starting to enjoy looking at his books by himself. He'll get one out and roll over on his back and hold it above him to "read". He especially loves the books with pictures of babies. Nothing is going on with the dogs. Caleb goes to the vet tomorrow for one last check-up and med refill before moving. Jo did something funny tonight which Matt said he wished we had caught on film. He was giving Jonah a bath and I was talking to him when we heard a dog crying. Since Caleb was with us I went to look for Jo. I found her in the kitchen in the kennel. Earlier Matt had thrown Piggy into the kennel and as Jo was trying to exit the kennel after retrieving her she noticed the broom was propped up again a box near the kennel. So, being the timid, scaredy cat she is, she just cried until I came and was brave enough to run away. In addition to be scared of the broom, she is afraid of any unfamiliar object or anything being out of place. She hasn't walked into the hallway or bathroom since we came home and put the new cooler in the hallway. So that was a really long story which wasn't very interesting. Matt had a class today (ACLS). But he joined us for ice cream afterward. Other than watching tv, surfing the internet, and playing video games, that is what he's been up to.

I've been trying to find all the positives in moving to Seattle. The biggest one is that I get a new couch. As you may remember, our couch left before Jonah was born and we've been making due with just a love seat which the dogs have also mangled. I've been wanting a new couch for about 2 years but Matt said that we had to wait until we moved. Well...we decided to go ahead and get one before we moved because we figured it would be less hassle than going out and buying one in an unfamiliar city. We spent the day going from store and store and ended up going back to buy the first couch I liked. I'm soooo loving it. It is more contemporary than my usual taste but maybe a new city (and state) means a new look. The cushions and half the pillows are dark brown but then there are 3 white pillows which will have to get new covers because I can't imagine trying to keep them white with two dogs and a baby. I'm excited about picking out the fabric to cover them. It will take 2 to 3 weeks to come in and if it doesn't arrive before we move they are just going to refund our money (I really hope it comes!). So what is the reason for two posts in one day? A fabulous video of the baby of course. This evening I patted Caleb on the head and told him he was a good boy and for some reason Jonah thought it was hilarious. Every time I would do it he would laugh. Then it got to the point that he was just laughing at the dogs. And he actually continued to do it when I got the camera. So enjoy the tail end of it.
Happy belated Mother's Day! We spent the day visiting mothers and grandmothers. It was my first official Mother's Day as a mother (although I argue that last year should have counted). I forgot to pack my camera so we didn't get any pictures with anyone. Our big news is that we have an apartment!! We'll sign the lease today and overnight our deposit and move in during the first week of June. It is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. It is in a large apartment complex with a many grassy areas for the dogs and pools, a playground and a fitness center. I'm excited to have a destination now. We're signing a 6 month lease and then we'll decide if we want to stay or look elsewhere.
Jonah is getting another bottom tooth and has been a little fussy. He finally just went down for a nap. Matt is mowing the lawn (he claims it will be the last time he ever mows). I should get moving now so that when he is done it doesn't look like I've just been sitting on the computer (which I have).
