Picasa

Laura and Matt suggest that I download Picasa to edit some photos so I did and I could probably spend hours playing with different effects. Here are a few pictures from the baptism that I've edited.

Christmas & Baptism

We've had a very busy week. Jonah enjoyed his first Christmas. He has a lot of new toys to play with and some to put up until he is older. Matt and I made out pretty good too. Although I didn't have anything to ask for because I have everything I ever wanted. I worked Friday and Saturday and then yesterday Jonah was baptized at St. Thomas Church. He was so good. He didn't cry but thought he should join in with the singing, the sermon, and the blessings during the baptism. We were so fortunate to have Laura and Matt bring little Abby who has grown so much in the week since we've seen her. Jonah is a lucky little boy to have Megan and Laura as his godmothers. I was supposed to work today but they didn't need me and I could use the break to spend some time home with Jonah. Matt also has the day off so he and Jonah are watching tv (well Matt is trying to watch as Jonah is squealing, something he just learned how to do yesterday).

Jonah has been a busy little boy this past week. On Thursday he hung out with Laura, Matt, & Abby while I was at work and even took a trip to visit me during the day. They had so much fun and took tons of cute pictures of the two together. Then on Sunday and Monday we tagged along with Matt to St. Louis where he had an interview. Jonah and I did some Christmas shopping. Jonah visited Santa but the 30 minute wait in line made him a bit cranky so he wouldn't smile. Matt is leaving tonight for Iowa and his last interview for 2 whole weeks! We've been missing him. I especially miss him when I have to take care of the baby and dogs and get myself ready for work. We're looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Christmas Tree

We picked up our Christmas tree today. Jonah loves the lights. We usually just do white lights but put colored lights on this year for Jonah. Enjoy the pictures!

The Christmas decorations are up (except for the tree). Now we just need to get Jonah's pictures taken and get cards sent out.

I took Jonah to the breastfeeding clinic to be weighed and he was 14 lbs! He is such a happy baby and is more vocal all the time. He's also starting to squeal. Matt left for Indianapolis today. Jonah and I might go to Springfield with him later this week because we're missing him. I've been sick and still trying to recover. Thankfully Jonah has not been sick. We still don't have any Christmas decorations up which is unusual for me. Jonah and I might do that tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures!

Jonah had his first official snow day. We took him outside for a picture but it was cold, wet & windy so he wasn't a fan. He has really started to suck on his hands a lot lately. He loves sitting in his seat and playing with the toys dangling in front of him. I'm working tomorrow and Thursday but Wednesday Jonah and I are going to hang out with Laura and Abby. Jonah is now wearing 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. Enjoy the pictures!

We've had a busy week with our trip to Michigan. Jonah slept almost all the way there with only one stop. That is really good considering it took us two hours longer than planned due to snow and accidents on the road. Jonah and I hung out at the hotel while Matt was at his interview. We did do a little shopping but then it was time to pick Matt up and take him to the airport. Here are some pictures from the trip and the last few days. I'm very excited to announce that Jonah has slept through the night for the last two nights. On Sunday I left him in his carseat when I got home from work because I didn't want to wake him up. I brought the carseat into the bedroom and layed down to nap because I figured he would be up anytime. He woke up at 7 am! Then last night he went to sleep at around 11 pm and woke up at 7 am. I'm hoping he keeps it up. We're looking forward to seeing everyone on Thanksgiving and for everyone to see how much Jonah has grown.

Jonah will take his first out of state trip this week. We're going to Michigan on Thursday because Matt has an interview on Friday. Jonah and I will drive him to the airport in Detroit because he has an interview in Denver on Saturday. I'm hoping we won't get any snow or ice for my drive back to Peoria.
Jonah reached another milestone on Friday. He rolled over! He has done it before but I think it had been a fluke. Now he's doing it all the time to get to what he wants. Caleb is already wary of the semi-mobile baby. He doesn't know what is to come!

While I was at work and Matt was in St. Louis, Jonah spent the weekend with Grandma Plunk. It wasn't hard to go back to work but everyday I work I miss my baby more. I do really love my job though. Too bad I can't put Jonah in an empty bedspace. The picture is of Jonah watching tv (reminds me of his daddy).

Last week went by quickly. I caught Matt's sore throat and cough but thankfully Jonah did not. Matt and Jonah hung out at Jacob's house on Saturday and that night we went to Alok's house where Jonah met more members of the med school family. Yesterday I officially came back from maternity leave. Matt left today for an interview in Minneapolis. We are going to miss him but Jonah and I will have fun at home eating take-out and watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 (my favorite show)! Jonah is 3 months old today. For the last week he has been sleeping for longer stretches at night but he still doesn't go to sleep until midnight. He brings his hands together and will bring things to his mouth. We can't tell if he favors his left hand or his right or if it is too early to tell.

Happy Halloween!

Jonah visited his Grandmas for Halloween. Because we have to spend 3 hours in the car we just made two stops. Enjoy the pictures. Could they be a look into the future?

Caleb or Snoopy?

I haven't given any updates on the dogs lately so I thought I would share a picture. Caleb's latest CBC was almost normal which made his vet very happy. We'll wean his steroids at the next refill. Jo is her happy self spending time with Piggy. Although she is always willing to drop her to take anything Caleb is showing interest in. They're both good with Jonah. Caleb has discovered that Jonah is a messy eater so his cheeks are sweet from milk. We have to remind him when his kisses are becoming inappropriate.

Shots are no fun!

Jonah visited the doctor yesterday for his 2 month immunizations. He weighed 12 lbs 2 oz!!! He has gained over 5 lbs since birth! His doctor was very happy with how he was doing. The shots upset him and he's been fussy and feverish since. Matt has also been feeling under the weather this week. He is feeling better today though so we plan to take Jonah trick-or-treating. I'll post pictures of Halloween soon.

Our little boy is 9 weeks old!

Jonah at 9 weeks.
Jonah at 3 days heading home from the hospital.

It is hard to believe how quickly these last 9 weeks has gone. We are still pinching ourselves and talk about how we can't believe we have a baby. I'll be working two days this week so Jonah will get to spend some time charming his Aunt Megan and Grandma Plunk. We took him to church for the first time this weekend. He looked around at all the people for a bit and then fell asleep. He has become so vocal! Today Matt called home to check on him and Jonah "talked" to him on the phone.

We're having tons of fun with Jonah. He is smiling and cooing more and more everyday. He is also figuring out how to use his hands to grab toys. He is so much fun!
