The house inspection was today and it took 2 1/2 hours. We'll probably be hearing something in the next couple of days. We cleaned out and packed the hall closet. I sorted Jonah's clothes and tomorrow I'll go get more tubs for his 6 month and some 9 month clothes. We're not bringing any little baby stuff to Seattle. We'll just have to make a road trip if we have another in the next 5 years. Enjoy the video of Jonah. I know I am a little biased but isn't he just the cutest thing ever? We just couldn't ask for a more perfect baby. He is so happy and laid back. His crying is always for a purpose and short lived. Matt said that with Jonah's good looks if he had his talent (for what I don't know) that he was going to Hollywood.

Jonah playing with one of the lovely little ladies, Olivia, at the baby shower

SOLD!!! We signed papers on Monday afternoon and we officially close on June 1st. The buyer wanted an inspection which will take place tomorrow. I'm anxious for it to be done and over with. We don't expect there to be problems but it there might be something we don't know about. The inspection is at 8 am! So Matt, Jonah, the dogs, and I will be vacating the house for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I have no idea what we'll do for that long. I submitted my last assignment for the semester and take my final next week. One more semester down and a little bit closer to being done. I loved this class because it was the only one with any neonatal content. Jonah and I attended a baby shower for 6 of the girls at work. They're having 5 boys and 1 girl. It was so much fun and Jonah was an angel as usual. I'm sad that I probably won't see any of the babies though.
We're still looking for a place to live. It is so frustrating to think we've found a place that advertises that they allow dogs and then we call and they don't. We're just looking for something short term until we get to know the area and decide whether we're going to buy and continue to rent. The dogs came home today and have just been lazying around. Jonah missed his Caleb. The house seemed a little empty without them but it was less work for me. Matt played paintball today in his white coat and has a few bruises.

We had a great weekend full of happy events. First, we went to Megan's pinning ceremony. We're so proud of her. UIC CON is not a walk in the park. She is going to be a great nurse because she's not only compassionate but she is smart too. I can't believe my own pinning was only 4 years ago. So much has happened, both personally and professionally, in the last 4 years.
Our second happy event was a call from the real estate agent with an offer on the house! It is quite a low offer but we'll try to negotiate. We'll keep you informed.
And last but not least was Arun & Rathi's wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL! I was very jealous of the gorgeous saris the women were wearing. Jonah was a doll and there wasn't a shortage of women who held him so we could eat. The food was only rivaled by the company.
I had to work today but didn't work too hard. I was charge nurse so I didn't have any patients and I just visited with people all day. But, shhh. Don't tell Carle.

A happy baby after a nice long nap and a full tummy

We have 3 showings schedules and one is a second showing!!! The dogs are spending the weekend at G&G Plunks to make things easier. It is a little lonely without them. But then again I don't have to worry about Caleb getting into anything when I leave the room. I like to have them sleep with me when Matt is gone at night for protection. They wouldn't hurt anyone but they make a lot of noise. Tonight (technically last night) is Matt's very last shift required for med school. I hate that it is overnight though.

Another day, another showing and no phone calls. We're still waiting to here from the condo people. A Kirby vacuum salesman came by today and asked if they could do a demonstration. We figured, why not? It was actually quite impressive. I'm embarrassed of the amount of dirt and dog hair he got out of the area rug. Especially since I vacuum daily and sometimes twice daily. But we have a little cordless stick vacuum. Of course, we didn't buy one but I can dream about owning one someday. So while the guy was here the dogs were outside getting muddy. We had a strategy where we would carry one in at a time to give baths which failed miserably. Matt was trying to get Caleb through the doorway and Jo snuck past me and got mud all over the freshly cleaned rug. I'm working tomorrow and then the next few weeks gets really crazy. For now I'm off to the grocery store to get food for Jonah. I finally got Jonah laughing in video. He usually stops and just looks at the camera.

Our new chairs. Wrong size but that is what they will look like.

Extreme close up

Best pals

Ugh, go away rain! We got a call this evening asking for a showing tomorrow. After that the dogs decided to go swimming in mud so they had to have baths. Now I'll be scrubbing the kitchen & bathroom floors AGAIN and cleaning the rug in the living room. Jonah has starting grinding his teeth which makes me cringe. We got a call today saying that our table and chairs came in. I sent Matt because Jonah was napping. I instructed him to make sure they gave us the right ones because we routinely get things messed up. Well I should have made sure Matt knew what we were supposed to get first. He thought that counter height was the normal table height. So they actually ordered us the wrong size. They said we could keep the wrong one until ours came in but I thought it was silly to unpack and assemble the table when we would just have to take it apart and pack it up again. So it is sitting in the kitchen. It took two weeks for the order to come in but the guy said he would put a rush on the new one. Grrrr. Today is not a good day. Yesterday was not either because I was sick and had to call into work. I'm thinking I should just go to bed now before anything else happens. I hope tomorrow is a fantastic day. I'm praying that the condo people will call and tell us they are going to allow dogs (no matter how overweight they are) and that we get an offer on the house.

The mess making has already begun.

He has the attitude and now he just needs the flannel to be ready for Seattle.

Jonah is 8 months old today. He tries to pull up on anything he can reach but has absolutely no balance. When he is standing he is very proud of himself. He has become an expert at rolling all over the living room. If you turn your back he is already across the room. His top two front teeth are visible but still barely peeking through his gums. I can't imagine what he'll look like with 4 teeth. There are many moments lately that he looks more like a little boy and less like a baby. I'm working tomorrow so it'll just be Matt and Jonah hanging out. Matt is at a party tonight and I'm home doing homework. Not fair but at least a get to hang out with my main man Jonah.
